Winter Hair Care Tips for Hydrated and Healthy Hair

Winter is a time when your hair needs all the help it can get.

Why? Because of the way that cold weather affects your hair's health. Cold, dry air is not good for your hair. The lack of moisture in the air causes your hair to lose its natural moisture and become brittle and weak. When this happens, the hydrogen bonds in your hair strands become weak, resulting in dry hair and breakage. As a result, you may notice more breakage and split ends during winter months than you do during other seasons of the year.

This can lead to an increase in hair fall during winter months—and we all know how much we hate losing our precious locks!

Winter weather is a problem for everyone. But for some, it's a particularly big one.

We're talking about dry, brittle hair. You know the kind: brittle and dry enough that your hair can break off at the slightest touch. A lot of people think this is normal—that their hair naturally becomes more prone to breakage in winter months. But that's not necessarily true.

It turns out that scientifically speaking, the hydrogen bonds in your hair strands become weak, resulting in dry hair, breakage, split ends and other effects that can lead to an increase in hair fall during winter months. So yes—hair fall does increase in winter!

We don't know about you, but we definitely feel like our hairline takes a beating in winter. It seems like it's just one thing after another: The dry air and wind damage your hair, then the cold weather causes it to frizz out, and then there's all that holiday stress.

It's like the universe has decided to pick on your hair this year. But guess what? It doesn't have to be that way! We've got some tips for keeping your hair looking gorgeous all winter long.

1) Keep your mane moisturised with a deep conditioning treatment like our Blast scalp & hair prep followed by Imperium CBD conditioner at least once per week, (always leave on for 5 to 10 minutes if possible, you can wrap your hair in a warm towel too), if not more often depending on how dry it gets from all of those hats and scarves you're wearing when you go outside.

2) Be sure to use heat protectant before you blow-dry or flat iron your hair—this will help prevent damage from blow dryers or curling irons.

3) Get regular haircuts so split ends don't have time to develop!
